Position overview
We’re currently hiring motivated and technically skilled professionals to join our infrastructure and cloud operations team in Sri Lanka. This is a remote role supporting our UK-based client operations. Unlike conventional IT support roles, this position requires experience across ERP platforms, cloud environments, Linux systems, and Oracle databases.

We’re hiring for two levels:

• Associate systems engineer – at least 1 year of relevant experience
• Systems engineer – 4 or more years in a similar position

Applicants with IFS Applications experience will be prioritized.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and tune Oracle databases, including patching and backup management
• Configure and manage infrastructure on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS
• Troubleshoot and maintain Linux operating systems and services
• Manage Kubernetes workloads using MicroK8s and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Monitor systems and services with tools like Prometheus and Grafana
• Work closely with ERP consultants to support both IFS Cloud and IFS Applications 10 environments
• Participate in a rotating shift schedule to provide 24/7 support
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and communicate effectively across teams and stakeholders

Required qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• Strong command of English (spoken and written) is essential
• Hands-on experience requirements:
  • Associate level: 1+ year
  • Systems engineer level: 4+ years
• Practical knowledge of Oracle database administration
• Proficiency in managing Linux servers and cloud services (Azure, AWS)
• Familiarity with containerized environments and Kubernetes platforms
• Exposure to ERP systems (especially IFS) is a strong advantage
• Professional certifications in any of the following are a plus: Oracle, AWS, Azure, Linux
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic, global setting

Work environment
This is a shift-based role operating within a 24/7/365 model, managed through a five-team rotation schedule.
