Culligan Middle East streamlines warehouse operations with Platned and IFS WADACO

Culligan Middle East has taken a big leap forward in warehouse efficiency by teaming up with Platned to roll out the IFS WADACO Warehouse Management system. The 11-month initiative replaced manual data entry in two Dubai warehouses with a real-time barcode scanning process, saving over 150 hours per month and boosting accuracy.

A regional part of the global Culligan brand, Culligan Middle East operates across the UAE and Qatar, with a major facility in Dubai focused on equipment manufacturing, chemical mixing, and water bottling. Although the company already used IFS Applications 10, inventory was still being recorded by hand, leading to reconciliation issues and delays.

To modernize the process, Culligan chose IFS WADACO for its seamless integration and real-time capabilities. Platned was selected as the implementation partner in April 2024 after a competitive bid, thanks to its relevant experience, hybrid delivery model, and cost-effective approach. Key project phases were handled on-site, while the rest was managed remotely to avoid disrupting daily operations.

Since going live in January 2025, warehouse staff now use barcode scanners for tasks like receiving, picking, and stock counting. Inventory is tracked live and organized into fixed bay locations. The solution also introduced serial and batch tracking, improved quality control, and replaced spreadsheets with automated export and shipping documentation.

“This project didn’t just digitize our process, it helped us transform it,” said Prathibha Gamage, IT Manager at Culligan Middle East. “We moved away from outdated habits and adopted best practices.”

Building on that success, Culligan launched IFS Mobile Work Order in March 2025, again with Platned’s support. The new module is helping the Food Service team manage van stock and streamline mobile engineer reporting. Next up is the rollout of IFS Rental, also in partnership with Platned.
