Construction companies operate on a project-based model, and larger organisations often manage multiple projects across different divisions worldwide.
Each project typically maintains both a cost forecast, including projected costs and revenues, and a cash forecast covering expected cash inflows and outflows. These forecasts provide critical insights for short- and long-term business planning. While the new IFS business planning module delivers advanced capabilities, it requires proper configuration to integrate data from the IFS project module.
Platned provides the expertise to import this data directly into IFS from existing third-party software as well as from other IFS modules not yet connected to the Business Planning module. This integration streamlines the planning process, reduces manual work, and helps businesses operate more efficiently.
Bridging the gap between projects and planning
A leading global construction company engaged Platned to integrate IFS forecast module data into their overarching finance projections, the master business plan covering the next six years. Thanks to this configuration project, the organisation no longer needs to export projections to third-party software for calculations.
IFS Project Forecasting & Budgeting (PF&B) and cash planning modules now handle project-level forecasts, while business planning and consolidation modules, supported by IFS Business Reporter-driven Excel templates, generate global forecasts and business plans.
Platned’s configuration solution connects the IFS construction project module with the business planning module. It imports data from the Estimated at Completion (EAC) Workbench, GL actuals, and periodic capitalization and revenue recognition, producing a modifiable Business Reporter file before finalising the data in the business planning module. This solution is typically implemented within 2–3 months, helping organisations streamline their planning process and improve accuracy.
